Four wounded in shootings
Four people, including two women, were wounded in separate incidents of firing in the metropolis on Sunday.
Baghdadi police said 26-year-old Arsalan, son of Mushtaq, was wounded when he resisted a mugging bid in Lyari’s Shah Baig Lane.
The casualty was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medical treatment. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
Separately, 12-year-old Huma, daughter of Tahir, was injured when a stray bullet hit her in the limits of the Quaidabad police station. She was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
In another incident, a 15-year-old boy, Saifur Rehman, son of Asghar, was suffered a bullet injury during aerial firing at a wedding ceremony in Darwesh Colony the within Ferozabad police limits. He was taken to the JPMC for medical treatment.

The deceased, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was identified as Naik Muhammad.
The police are investigating the matter further. Separately, a man was injured by robbers over resistance on Wednesday.
According to police, Wajid Ali, 35, son of Abdul Ghaffoor was wounded in a firing incident in Moinabad area in Malir. The injured was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

A woman on Saturday threw an infant girl down from a multi-storey building before leaping off herself in Karachi s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
According to police, the woman, identified as Maryam, 35, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The toddler, identified as Iman, 2, was miraculously unharmed as people standing below caught her in a stretched out cloth.

A woman in Karachi s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area threw a two-year-old girl down from a multi-storey building before leaping off herself,

According to police, the woman, identified as Maryam, 35, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The toddler, identified as Iman, 2, was miraculously unharmed as people standing below caught her in a stretched out cloth.
In a video of the incident, it can be seen that the woman throws down the child before proceeding to jump off.
Preliminary investigations, according to police, revealed that the woman s husband from a second marriage had locked her in a room to stop her from using drugs as she is an addict .

Four people lost their lives and three others were injured in road traffic accidents in parts of the metropolis on Sunday. A passenger bus overturned near the Quaidabad area in Landhi and, as a result, an elderly man died at the scene while three other passengers were injured.
Following the accident, ambulances reached the scene and transported the victims to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The deceased was identified as 70-year-old Rehman Gul, son of Badshah Khan, while the injured were Mujahid Khan, Shahrukh and Babar.
Police said the bus driver had escaped following the accident and that a case had been registered. Separately, seven-year-old Nabeel, son of Zahoor, died in Khuda Ki Basti, said the Surjani Town police.
