Local Ireland, the representative association for 46 weekly paid for newspapers including the People Newspapers, Wexford, and the largest publishing representative body in Ireland, has announced the appointment of Bob Hughes as executive director of the association with effect from January 1, 2021.

LOCAL Ireland, the representative association for 46 weekly paid for newspapers and the largest publishing representative body in Ireland, has week announced the appointment of Bob Hughes as Executive Director of the association with effect from January 1.
Mr Hughes succeeds Johnny O’Hanlon who had been director since 2009 and retired on December 31, 2020.
Mr Hughes began his career in local and regional newspapers before moving to Fleet Street to become a sub-editor at the Press Association.
He joined ITN where he was a producer on Channel 4 News before moving to Reuters/Sky as a programme editor, reporter and producer. He then joined Radio Ireland/Today FM before becoming Deputy Director of News at TV3 from its launch until 2014.

UK - Projects Department Ltd (PDL) specified and installed two Zero 88 FLX lighting control consoles, four SCD Servers and a ZerOS Wing for YouTube’s Space London facility in the Kings Cross area of the UK’s capital. Projects Department, led by Peter Daffern, is an independent company specialising in a wide range of technical services for assorted entertainment lighting industry sectors including broadcast, and is well known for its adaptable and lateral thinking approach. The three main studios at Space London are available for YouTube’s top creators and influencers - those with 10,000+ subscribers to their channels - to use for content creation and other related endeavours, offering a vibrant community, an imaginative workspace and well-equipped environment to encourage the production of more high-quality material.
