Troubleshooters: getting overdue title for truck owner FILE PHOTO and last updated 2021-05-18 18:34:22-04 CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local man asked the Troubleshooters for help getting the title to his new truck, which he bought in December. Aaron Campbell bought his Chevy Silverado 1500 truck from Team Chevrolet in Alice almost six months ago. He s already on his second set of temporary tags. As part of his divorce settlement, he has to get it re-financed, but he can t because he still doesn t have the title. And he s tried. I as well have tried calling the county office to try to get some sort of resolution, he told the Troubleshooters. Left several messages and nothing.

Jim Wells County human smuggling operation

Updated: 12:43 PM CDT May 17, 2021 JIM WELLS COUNTY, Texas Jim Wells County authorities and Border Patrol agents caught 23 migrants in the country illegally, and believe at least 20 got away, when authorities went to a house near Palito Blanco after getting tips of a human smuggling operation. Authorities went to the home Sunday, May 16 and noticed several people in the backyard. When authorities announced their presence, several people ran into the brush. 23 migrants were detained, and authorities say about 20 got away.  Officials also say they found two stolen trucks on the property that were used in a human smuggling operation.  The property owner, Adrian Cadena, was arrested and taken to the Jim Wells County Jail where he was booked on human smuggling and theft charges.

Orange Grove police arrest teens in school hazing incident

Alice Echo News Journal ORANGE GROVE - Jordan Garcia, 17, and four other teenagers were charged on Thursday, May 13 by Orange Grove police in connection with a hazing incident that occurred at the Orange Grove High School in April, Police Chief Roy Lee Guerrero said.  Luke Inglis, 17, is wanted by Orange Grove police in connection with the incident, Guerrero added.  Names of the other four male suspects in this case will not be released due to their age. On May 3, Orange Grove police were contacted by school officials in reference to a potential hazing incident that occurred on April 29. Video footage was submitted into evidence which showed several male minors participate in the hazing of a 16-year-old teen on school grounds, Guerrero said.

Investigators said video of the incident was provided to them and they saw several minors participating in the hazing of another minor on school grounds. Orange Grove police said they reached out to the Texas Rangers along with Jim Wells County Sheriff s Office to assist in their investigation. After the victim filed a complaint, police said they arrested five people involved in the incident and issued an arrest warrant for another student
