Round Hill buys catalog of Bryan Adams songwriting partner Jim Vallance

Music Business Worldwide January 11, 2021 Round Hill Music has acquired the back catalog of Canadian songwriter Jim Vallance. Today’s news follows Round Hill’s announcement in November that it closed its third private fund, Round Hill Music Royalty Fund III, with total equity commitments of $291m. (Subsequent to that announcement, Round Hill confirmed in mid-December that its separate, UK-listed fund – Round Hill Music Royalty Fund Ltd – had raised an additional $46.1m, enabling it to buy the tranche of copyrights its had earmarked in its initial prospectus.) Born in British Columbia in 1952, Vallance is perhaps best known as the songwriting partner of fellow Canadian musician Bryan Adams with whom he wrote three platinum-selling albums featuring nine singles which reached the Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1978 and 1989.
