Loudonville-Perrysville Schools technology coordinator retiring

Dorothy (Dottie) Arseneau. ROCKPORT With a fire glowing and snow falling outside the window of her cozy Rockport home, Dorothy (Dottie) Arseneau fell into a deep sleep on February 2, 2021 with her partner of many years, the love of her life, Jon Brewer, near her side. Her long courageous battle with cancer was finally over. Dorothy was born in Rockville, New York on February 10, 1955. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joan and Louis A. Arseneau and the beloved sister of the late Richard Arseneau and John Arseneau. Surviving siblings, living outside of Maine, are brother James Arseneau, sister Jean Roalsvig and her husband Knut, brother Edward Arseneau and his wife Linda, and brother William Arseneau and his wife Kathy. Others from afar that she considered family are Evy Brewer, Jim Brewer and his wife Dorothy and Jay Brewer. She had several nieces and nephews.

Perrysville Village Council hears improved sewer plant goes online

KEY ACTION  Mayor Heather Mullinnex said the improved sewer plant went online this week. DISCUSSION “There is still some work being done on the project, but the new square ditch treatment facility is working, and the remaining old ditches which previously served the system are being demolished,” Mullinnex said after the meeting. The village recently qualified for low-income eligibility for funding for projects through a successful income survey, and will soon apply for additional funds for Phase 2 of the sewer plant improvement project, the mayor said. “The successful survey qualifies us for Community Development Block Grant funding,” she said. She said village officials have met with officials from the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District to discuss further cooperating on the sewer plant improvements. The MWCD is connecting its sewer lines to the village plant, and is assisting with the upgrades.

Mohican Area Community Fund surpasses 2021 goal of $90,000 Jim Brewer Special to the Ashland Times-Gazette LOUDONVILLE The Mohican Area Community Fund, the Loudonville-Perrysville area’s version of a United Appeal-type organization, has surpassed its 2021 campaign goal of $90,000. The campaign proceeds will be divided among 33 local, area and national nonprofit agencies. Speaking at the Jan. 28 meeting of the Rotary Club of Loudonville, MACF President Jane Stoops reported that as of that day $91,441 had been contributed, adding “we expect money to continue to come in through the end of February. We still haven’t received some of our share of donations and pledges from area industries that are collected by the United Way of Ashland County.”
