Iranian academic Dr. Rohollah Eslami, assistant professor at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, wrote an article, titled Azerbaijan Is The Head Of Iran, criticizing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for pursuing a racist and expansionist foreign policy, and promoting the Idea of Iran.
According to Eslami, the war-mongering behavior of Turkey, seen in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War, endangers the national interest of Iran.
Pro-Iranian Iraqi Group Claims Rocket Attack On Turkish Outpost On Turkey-Iraq Border

On February 15, 2021, Ashab Al-Kahf (People of the Cave), an armed Iraqi Shi ite group loyal to Iran, claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on a Turkish rear military outpost on the Turkey-Iraq border. The claim of responsibility published on the group s Telegram channel states that the attack reflects the group s capabilities and that Turkey should completely withdraw its forces from Iraq. The statement does not include details about the number of rockets fired or the damage caused to the outpost.[1]
The attack was carried out in the context of the recent military activity in the region conducted by Turkey against the forces of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), and the concern raised by Iraqi elements close to Iran that Turkey intends to expand its operations in Iraq. On February 9, 2021, Pakistan and Turkey started ATATURK-XI joint military drills. The three-week-long joint military exercise involves Turkish Special Forces and troops of Pakistani military s elite Special Services Group. The opening ceremony of the exercise ATATURK-XI 2021 was held at the Pakistani military s Special Service headquarters in Tarbela, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The banner at the shooting range, where the ceremony was held, read: We desire death more ardently than you desire life. On February 16, 2021, Saraya Awlia Al-Dam (The Guardian of Blood Brigades), an Iran-backed militia in Iraq, issued a statement on its Telegram channel highlighting the reasons behind the group s rocket attack, carried out on February 15, which targeted a military base housing U.S. forces in Erbil, northern Iraq. The statement suggested that further attacks may be carried out in the Kurdistan region if the regional government continues to cooperate with U.S. forces and continues to allow Turkish military activity within Iraq s borders.[1]
