The Animal Allies Pet Of The Week Is A Cat Named Buffalo
The Animal Allies Pet Of The Week is Buffalo a seven pound orange tabby, domestic short hair cat who is 3 years old. Buffalo is a little shy towards people he does not know, but once he gets to know you he loves to snuggle and get chin scratches.
Buffalo has been neutered, microchipped, vet checked and is updated on all his shots. The staff at Animal Allies do their best to evaluate the temperament of all the animals so they can match them with the best home possible. If you are interested in adopting him, please call the adoption team at 218-722-5341 for more information! The adoption staff is available by phone starting right at 10:30 to 6:00 PM Tuesday-Saturday, and 10:30 to 4:00 PM Sunday. Nessa is a young cat at only 6 months old, and is waiting patiently for a new loving home with people that will help her blossom into an awesome adult cat.
The Lake Superior Zoo Revue: North American River Otters
The staff at Lake Superior Zoo are pleased to announce the opening of the North American River Otter exhibit located right next to the new Bear Country area.
The two otters are Logan & Brule and they are just as mischievous as they are cute. North American River Otters can be found here in the Northland throughout Canada and the United States, except for areas of Southern California, New Mexico, and Texas.
River otters can live in freshwater or coastal marine habitats like river, lakes, and marshes. They build dens in the burrows of other mammals or natural hollows like under a log. Their diets mainly consist of fish, frogs, crayfish, and small mammals.
Raura is a white, grey, and apricot, domestic short hair cat who is about 11 years and 6 months old. She came to Animal Allies after she was transferred from a different shelter and now is looking for a new, loving home to call her own! She is a mature lady who is looking for a new calm home where she can have lots of windows to lay in the sun and look out all day!
For many senior pets being placed in a facility even as nice as Animal Allies can be very traumatic. Although not much is known about Raura it is assumed that she had a home for some point of her life. She has been spayed, vet checked, micro-chipped, full dental care and is updated on all her shots. Given her age, her adoption fee is only $25.
Frostie is a sweet young dog who is very shy and skittish, but with the right person to show her kindness and love, she is sure to come out of her shell.
