MIL-OSI New Zealand: Police identify remains found in South Invercargill

Police have now identified the human remains found on April 20 on SH1 in Kew, South Invercargill. Police confirm the remains are those of 38-year-old Brian Junior McLaren, of Invercargill. The matter is now being dealt with by the Coroner’s office. Police would like to thank the public and volunteers at LandSAR for the many hours they put into searching for Mr McLaren. 

MIL-OSI New Zealand: Firearm recovered, two people arrested in Auckland

Counties Manukau Police have confiscated a loaded military style assault rifle this morning. Police staff initially attended a report of disorder at the Manukau Sports Bowl in Clover Park shortly after 9.00am today. However, information was received that a firearm was involved. Police located a vehicle that had left the scene a short distance away. The vehicle was searched and a loaded military style assault rifle and air rifle were found. The firearm was not discharged during the incident and Police are not seeking anyone else. Two men, a 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old-have been arrested and will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow charged with unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm and magazine.

MIL-OSI New Zealand: Woman arrested following Christchurch robberies

Source: New Zealand Police (District News) Police have arrested a 19-year-woman this afternoon, who is believed to be responsible for four robberies at retail premises in Christchurch. The first allegedly occurred on Bealey Avenue just before 7pm last night. A further three allegedly happened today on: Ilam Road, Bryndwr – reported to Police just before 11.30am Hills Road, Edgeware – reported to Police just after 12pm Worcester Street, Linwood – reported to Police just after 1.30pm. Nobody was injured as a result of these incidents however cash and tobacco products were allegedly stolen. Charges are being considered and the women is expected to appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow.
