J.Crew Group is shaking up its C-suite in order to bolster long-term growth. Among the moves, the apparel retailer is elevating Derek Yarbrough, the CMO of sister brand Madewell, to CMO of the J.Crew brand as well.

Nearly a year after filing for bankruptcy, J. Crew on Thursday appointed four execs to its senior management team to bolster its digital, culture, sustainability and marketing initiatives at its brands. J. Crew did not mention when they will officially assume responsibilities in a company press release on the appointments.
Most of the roles involve broadening the responsibilities of Madewell execs to include J. Crew as well. Derek Yarbrough, Madewell s chief marketing officer, will be chief marketing officer of both Madewell and J. Crew, where he will be in charge of marketing, e-commerce and creative initiatives. Danielle Schmelkin, Madewell s chief information officer, will be the chief information officer of the entire company, where she will lead the company s digital transformation through data insights, and improve connectedness and interactivity with shoppers.

Fábio Tambosi to its chief marketing officer role, effective immediately. In this position, Tambosi will be tasked with strategic development and execution of the company’s global branding initiatives, and will report to Anne Cavassa, president of Saucony. (Additionally, he will join the brand’s senior leadership team.) Tambosi has more than 18 years of industry experience, and was most recently at Adidas where he was the global head of brand, planning and activation for the sports performance categories. Before Adidas, he had stints at Nike and Nokia.
