Nearly a month after resigning his post, Rafa Diaz Jr. will rejoin the Judson Independent School District board of trustees this week in a different seat.
Diaz, 36, stepped down from the District 4 seat in November in order to apply for the vacant District 7 at-large seat, which covers the entire school district. In a special meeting Monday, trustees tapped Diaz over two other applicants, including a former Judson superintendent, to fill the position.

Diaz was first appointed to the board in October 2019, and recently resigned while house-hunting in a move he said would likely take his family residence out of the District 4 boundaries.
