Punch Newspapers Sections Johnny Edward Four Nigerian weightlifters have qualified for the 2021 International Weightlifting Junior Championship in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Technical Director of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Christopher Nwajei, has stated. The weightlifters are Patrick Barde, Liadi Taiwo, Stella Peters and Joy Ogbona. Nwajei stated that the quartet would resume training in January as they bid to earn more points to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. “The NWF pruned the list from 10 to four as those selected needed more points to qualify for the Olympics,” Nwajei told Saturday PUNCH. “We are hopeful that they will achieve great things at the championship.”
