Bach Asks NOCs of Americas to Encourage Their Athletes 12/15/20
(ATR) The president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, transmitted a message of optimism to 41 NOCs of the Americas on Tuesday about the celebration of the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In his address in Spanish and English to the Panam Sports Virtual Ordinary General Assembly, Bach was encouraged by the scientific advances in rapid tests and in the initiation of vaccinations against the Covid pandemic.
The cooperation agreements reached with the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the G20 international forum to support the next summer and winter Olympic editions were also highlighted by the sports leader.

At the LVIII General Assembly of Panam Sports, the Chilean obtained 52 votes from the member countries confirming the tremendous support he has in the continent and the recognition of the great work he is doing while leading the Pan American Sports Organization.
Mario Moccia from Argentina, Jimena Saldaña from Mexico and Keith Joseph from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines were elected as the three Vice Presidents. The new Executive Committee Members are Susanne Lyons from the USA, Miguel Angel Mujica from Chile, Erskine Simmons from Barbados and Juan Santiago Estrada from Nicaragua.
Ilic to be re-elected Panam Sports President at two-day General Assembly Monday, 14 December 2020
Neven Ilic will be re-elected unopposed as Panam Sports President at the organisation s two-day virtual General Assembly, with a new Executive Committee also set to be decided.
Elections will be among the key items on the agenda during the second day of the General Assembly on Wednesday (December 16).
Ilic has led the organisation since 2017, when the Chilean official emerged as the winner of a tightly contested Presidential election.
He had finished tied with Brazil s Carlos Nuzman for second place in the first round with 14 votes.
The 58-year-old then won a run-off by 27 votes to 23 to face José Joaquín Puello of the Dominican Republic in the second round.
2022 Games Host Not to be Decided in December 12/09/20
(ATR) The Commission for Future Venues of Centro Caribe Sports has recommended traveling to the candidate cities of the 2022 Games, Mayaguez (Puerto Rico) and San Salvador (El Salvador),
