Juneau County Death Reported in Necedah Wildlife Refuge
On Friday, May 14, 2021, at approximately 9:58 am, the Juneau County Communications Center received a telephone call from a subject advising they had located a vehicle in the Necedah Refuge with a subject inside who appeared deceased.
Upon arrival Juneau County deputies discovered one male occupant deceased in the driver’s seat. Based upon the initial investigation it appears as though the male was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The name of the individual is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The incident remains under investigation by the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office and the Juneau County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Man found dead in vehicle at Necedah Refuge

NECEDAH, Wis. Juneau County authorities are investigating after a man was found dead Friday inside a car at the Necedah Refuge.
Officials said they received a call around 10 a.m. Friday reporting a man inside a vehicle at the refuge appeared dead. When law enforcement responded, they found one man dead in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
An initial investigation revealed the man was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Foul play is not suspected in the man’s death. Law enforcement officials said there is no danger to the community.
On February 27
th at approximately 6:57am, the Juneau County dispatch center was notified about a two vehicle crash on STH 58 near Dune Rd in Germantown Township. Upon initial investigation, an adult female drive died as a result of the crash. Occupants of the other vehicle involved received non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. The name of the deceased is pending notification of family. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New Lisbon Police Department, Mauston Ambulance, Camp Douglas Ambulance, and the Juneau County Medical Examiner’s Office.
