The School of Humanities (SOH) at Juliette Gordon Low Elementary was recognized by the state for its work to establish a family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere when Low starting with its merger with the former Thunderbolt Elementary in 2017.

She explained that the newly merged school family had to earn the trust of each other and the community. The school staff visited the neighbors and attended neighborhood association meetings. We got feedback from various members of the community to find out how we could support them and how they can support us as a school.
