(Andrew Meade/iPolitics) The House of Commons may have powered down for a week-long hiatus, but members of the House ETHICS committee may get the chance to test the limits of their collective power to compel witnesses to testify when WE Charity co-founders Marc and Craig Kielburger return for a second round of parliamentary cross-examination this afternoon. (2:30 PM) As previewed by iPolitics, the brothers are booked in for an extended three-hour appearance, during which they’ll face a flurry of pointed follow-up questions on the circumstances surrounding that now-nixed contract to divvy up over $500 million in COVID-19 emergency funding earmarked for student volunteers.

Dani Keenan began her new position as O’Regan’s director of communications on Monday, replacing Carlene Variyan, who signed off last month to join returning minister Jim Carr’s new team. Keenan spent the past year as director of communications and issues management for Diversity, Inclusion and Youth Minister Bardish Chagger. Chagger’s office has not yet filled this role.
