Sussex County NJ: Fort Drum soldier, teen charged with murder of corporal

Authorities did not release any information on the teen, including hometown or relationship to the soldiers.  Authorities said a dispute may be behind the abduction of Harris in his truck by Mellish, who then allegedly drove more than 300 miles to his hometown of Brooklyn. The two soldiers and the juvenile then traveled to Ross Road in Byram, where investigators believe Harris was killed. Byram Township police found Harris body, nearly buried under snow, about 200 feet into the woods off the cul-de-sac. Firefighters called police to the scene after they found blood and several scattered items while on their annual Santa ride through the township.

Although many people reported little to no symptoms, some have reported severe illness. Around 1.72 deaths have been attributed to coronavirus. A person can remain infectious for up to two weeks after catching COVID-19.

62-year-old woman killed in domestic homicide in Irondale Updated Dec 28, 2020; An investigation is underway after a woman was found slain early Monday in Irondale. Police responded to a 911 call at 1:12 a.m. to a home in the 700 block of Meadows Drive, said Sgt. Michael Mangina. Once on the scene at the apartment complex, they found the 62-year-old victim unresponsive. She was pronounced dead on the scene. A 29-year-old male – who police say was the person who called 911 – was taken into custody with charges pending. Authorities have not said how the woman was killed or the suspect’s relationship to the victim.

Facebook Share No criminal charges will be filed in a November shooting in Birmingham that left two people dead. The suspect who initiated the dispute, police said Monday, was killed in the shooting. The man who shot him did so in self-defense. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive 40-year-old Derick Williams outside of the apartment. He was pronounced dead on the sidewalk. Inside the apartment, 65-year-old Lorretta Frazier was also found dead. Two others – a male and a female – were taken to UAB Hospital. They survived their injuries.

BREAKING: Man charged with capital murder in shooting death of 20-year-old Destiny Washington

From The Tribune staff reports BIRMINGHAM   The Birmingham Police Department reports an arrest has been made in the homicide of 20-year-old Destiny Washington. Washington was shot at the Hill University Center located on the campus of UAB, according to police. Washington was then driven to Children’s Hospital of Alabama by way of private vehicle where she was later pronounced deceased. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Carlos Londarrius Stephens, of Alabaster, Alabama. Stephens was taken into custody after turning himself in on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, police said. Detectives presented the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and obtained a capital murder warrant for the death of Washington.
