Share Updated: 8:44 AM CDT Apr 5, 2021 Linda Grantin Update 4/5: The Jefferson County Coroner s Office has released the identity of the victim as Joshua Scott II, 50, of Lipscomb.Officials say one man is dead after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.The Jefferson County Sheriff s Office responded to a report of a pedestrian hit at 8:45 p.m. Saturday near Fifth Street in Lipscomb.Deputies found a man dead at the scene. It appeared the man had been hit by a vehicle.The investigation continues.Anyone with information is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff s Office at 205-325-1450 or call Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
Pilot found dead after plane crashes in southwestern Jefferson County

The Jefferson County Sheriffâs Office confirmed Sunday afternoon the male pilot of the plane was found deceased in the crash west of Deckers.

DENVER â The male pilot of an airplane that crashed in the mountains about 7 miles west of Deckers Saturday evening was found dead at the crash site Sunday afternoon, according to the Jefferson County Sheriffâs Office.
Mike Taplin, a spokesperson for the sheriffâs office, said the Park County Sheriffâs Office handed the search over to Jefferson County around 8:15 p.m. after a beacon alert was sent out by the airplane.

(CBS4) – Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office learned in March 2019 that a 13-year-old student received an inappropriate photo from a man. The sheriff’s office’s child sex offender internet investigations unit, known as CHEEZO, then took over the child’s digital persona.
The suspect sent more inappropriate images of himself to the investigator portraying the victim.
The suspect was identified in May 2019 as Milgate Primary School teacher Liam Wilkinson of Warrandyte, Victoria in Australia.
