TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) - An ex-Trussville police officer has been arrested on a sexual misconduct charge involving a female inmate in the Trussville City Jail.
Attorney General Steve Marshall says David Wayne Montgomery, 51, of Orange Beach, surrendered late Wednesday to the Jefferson County Sheriffâs Office. He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and released on a $15,000 bond.

JEFFERSON COUNTY The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting and robbery at a business in the eastern part of the county.
The incident happened on Monday, March 8, 2021, around 1:40 p.m. The business is in the 5200 block of Pinson Valley Parkway, which is in unincorporated Jefferson County.
Pinson Mayor Joe Cochran said the incident happened at a Bingo Hall right outside the city limits of Pinson. He said the robber or robbers got away with only $30.
Several deputies responded to the scene.
No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made, according to Sgt. Joni Money.
East Liverpool City police answered two catalytic converter complaints in the past few days. At 10:38 a.m. March 2, a female subject reported that she observed a tall, skinny white male with a large tattoo on his left hand parked near her Jeep several hours before. He was going through a tool box in the bed of a dark colored S-10 and now her catalytic converter is missing. Another woman in the 1800 block of Harvey Avenue reported at 4:33 p.m. Saturday that someone over the past three days stole her catalytic converter off her Chevrolet sedan while it was parked in a private lot.
