Phase One of the deck park will span from Ewing and Marsalis avenues on I-35E, directly next to the Dallas Zoo, and feature a lawn and over 250 trees.
It will also include other features requested by the community, with a stage and pavilion, a children s playground, a dedicated food truck area and a multipurpose building.

Construction of the park itself is set to begin in 2022, after the construction of the deck, which will support the park, is completed. TxDOT began that work in July 2020 and is about halfway finished.

Owners of Barnaby s in Mishawaka plan to open a Twin Branch location on the east side of the city this fall.
Owner Mike Lane said the building at 4304 Lincoln Way E., which formerly held Mancino s Italian Eatery and Domenico s before that, will operate primarily for carryout services, with small dine-in services and banquet space also available. The new location will offer many of the same menu options as other Barnaby s locations.
Some renovations will be made with new floors and a new oven to be installed this summer. The opening of the restaurant is dependent upon when projects will be complete, but Lane anticipates to open the location by September.
