Fedeli spoke with local media following a funding announcement Wednesday about vaccines, the stay-at-home order and an online petition calling for the resignation of Dr. Jim Chirico, the districtâs medical officer of health.
âThe provinceâs chief medical officer of health meets with cabinet at least twice a week â midweek and we meet Friday to formulate any decisions,â Fedeli said. âWe get modelling information as to what is happening in Toronto and other areas of concern.

North Bay Mayor Al McDonald says his focus is on getting North Bay its share of COVID-19 vaccines.
“We need the vaccines to get our lives back to normal,” McDonald told The Nugget Thursday.

“Getting the vaccines and following the protocols are the fastest way to get life back to normal. The experts are saying COVID is not going away similar to other diseases. It will be with us moving forward. The vaccine truly is our best option to get back to normal.”

Andrea Maville says the last time she spoke with her father on Sunday was to tell him how much she loved him and to let him know “I bought mom flowers on your behalf for Valentine’s Day.

“He always bought mom flowers,” Maville says, her voice starting to break. “He loved her so much.”
Maville’s father, Doug Arthur, died Tuesday from COVID-19. He is the first victim from Nipissing and the second in the region.
