JAIPUR: All the 13 deceased, who were killed in a freak accident in Surat early on Tuesday, were cremated in their native Kaushalgarh tehsil of Banswara on Wednesday.
State tribal affairs minister Arjun Singh Bamaniya, local MLAs, officials and locals attended the cremations in four villages. Bamaniya handed over the CM relief fund cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of those killed in the accident.
The bodies of all the deceased, including a one-year-old infant, were brought in ambulances from Surat late on Tuesday night. The residents of Bhagatpura village didn’t sleep for the whole night waiting for sunrise to collectively prepare for cremation. “This is for the first time that the entire village is mourning the death of its five residents at a time. JALORE: Six people were killed and 17 others sustained injuries as a bus caught fire after coming in contact with an electric wire in Maheshpur of Jalore district late on Saturday night.

The Covid vaccine dry run in progress at Kanwatia Hospital in Jaipur
JAIPUR: The second dry run of vaccination for coronavirus was successfully organised at the 102 vaccine centres across the state on Friday. At least 2,500 volunteers participated in the dry run, in which health workers informed the volunteers about various guidelines on the symptoms.
At the Kanwatia Hospital here, a team of five doctors and 10 nursing staff completed the process of vaccinating 25 volunteers in the dry run, where volunteers were supposed to get themselves registered through the mobile app and later, they were sent for thermal screening. “After vaccination for the dry run, they were taken to an isolation room where they were given various guidelines on symptoms which can affect them. The exercise was successful,” said Dr Narottam Sharma, chief medical and health officer (CMHO), Jaipur.

JAISALMER: For the first time after its induction into the Indian Air Force, Rafale will land at the Pokhran field firing range in Jaisalmer to take part in a major wargame between India and France. The joint exercise, SKYROS, is aimed at increasing coordination between the air forces of India and France in the strategic sector. The exercise is scheduled between January 19 and 25.
This war exercise, which comes in the backdrop of India-China tensions, will showcase the expertise of both the countries. IAF will fly in its Rafale and Sukhoi jet fighters while France will bring in its Rafale fighters too.

JAIPUR: In a joint operation, eight persons have been arrested in connection with running an inter-state racket supplying adulterated fuel on NH-8 on Tuesday. The police of Jaipur Rural, Jaipur Commissionarate and Ajmer exposed the racket of bringing crude oil from Gujarat and supplying in the industrial areas.
“Police have seized 1.30 lakh litre of adulterated fuel and chemical from two spots. The market value of the fuel is Rs 1 crore,” said S Sengathir, IG Jaipur range, in a press conference.
He said they had received a tip-off on December 28 that one tractor heading from Jaipur and Nasirabad is transporting fake 20,000 litres fuel. “The tractor driver Mehboob Ali told that he was transporting fuel from the VKI industrial area to Deepak Motar Garage in Narirabad,” said the IG.
