Drunk driver who rear-ended car in deadly crash has license suspended for life Updated Mar 01, 2021; Facebook Share A man who was driving drunk, crashed into another car and killed its driver was sentenced Monday to five years in state prison, authorities said. Douglas Thompson, 56, of Jackson, pleaded guilty on Nov. 19, 2020 to death by auto in exchange for the sentence, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. A judge also ordered Thompson’s driving privileges be suspended for life. Thompson rear-ended a car driven by Thomas Marciano as Marciano was stopped behind a vehicle making a left turn at the intersection of Stevens Road and Route 9 on Oct. 15, 2019, authorities said.

A JSUMC spokesman said the lab is equipped with GE Healthcare’s advanced Innova IGS 520 image-guided system which gives physicians the technology to perform various cardiovascular and electrophysiology, diagnostic and interventional procedures. “The new state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is the first upgrade and step towards fulfilling our mission in providing the highest-level cardiac care in the state.  It gives our outstanding physicians and staff the tools they need to perform the most complex procedures at the highest quality,” Renato Apolito, M.D., medical director of cardiac catheterization, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, said in a statement.
