Pintor Marin and Vainieri Huttle on Introduction of Bill to Combat Discrimination and Harassment in Political Campaigns
(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin (D-Essex) and Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-Bergen) introduced legislation on Friday aimed to address the toxic, misogynistic climate of New Jersey politics – particularly within campaigns – documented through news reports and legislative hearings over the past several years.
The bill (A-5354) would require candidate committees, joint candidate committees, political party committees and continuing political committees to adopt and require training on anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies.

New Jersey FMBA President Ed Donnelly seems like a formidable potential candidate for state Senate
in the 21st District. He’s a powerful guy as both head of one of the state’s big public workers unions and chair of the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System. And it’s another one of those once-safely Republican districts that got a lot friendlier-looking to Democrats in the Trump era.

The complaint contends that Fisher never filed a 20-day post election report after being re-elected to another four-year term on November 5th, 2019. Her most recent filing is dated October 29th, 2019, according to NJ ELEC’s online database.
In a statement, Cohen indicates that he brought this up during a public session at the beginning of the year and it still hast not been remedied.
“During the Hoboken City Council’s meeting of January 6, 2021, I specifically told Councilwoman Fisher that her most recent ELEC disclosure for Hoboken’s November 5, 2019 City Council election was filed on October 29, 2019,” he explained.
