Coronavirus in N.J.: What’s reopened, what concerts, festivals and shows are rescheduled, canceled. (Dec. 9, 2020) Updated Dec 10, 2020; The Raritan Valley Community College arts and design department will continue its virtual concert series with “Cinderella,” a live-streamed from Nash Theatre on the Branchburg campus 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, performed by pianist Artyom Pak. The program will include 19 pieces from Sergey Prokofiev’s ballet, “Cinderella,” in the composer’s own piano arrangements. An online discussion with Pak will follow the program. Born in Tashkent, Pak gave his first solo recital at age 9, made his first appearance with an orchestra at age 13, and since has played with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, and the Mihail Jora orchestra of Bacau, Romania. His solo repertoire contains works from J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, John Cage others

Things To Do: Hanukkah lights, a reimagined Nutcracker

WHYY By (Bigstock Photo) The outdoors and virtual activities prevail as we head into the holiday season. A bonanza of lights greets the celebration of Hanukkah, beginning today, and some beloved annual traditions are still accessible online. Light up the holidays Thursday marks the first night of Hanukkah and Boathouse Row will commemorate the occasion by kicking off their first themed light display of the 2020 holiday season. The historic attraction lights up for Hanukkah from Dec. 10-17. On Dec. 19, the display will change to illuminate for Christmas through Dec. 25 and then from Dec. 26 – Jan. 1 for Kwanzaa. Boathouse Row can be seen from Martin Luther King Drive, which remains closed to vehicular traffic, or from the area directly behind the Philadelphia Art Museum near the Fairmount Water Works.The Betsy Ross House does their Menorah lighting ceremony online Thursday at 4:30 p.m., but it will remain on display through the Hanukkah holiday. The Nutcracker in Colorado in 2020

For decades, the Colorado Ballet has brought The Nutcracker to life. This year, Denver s premier dance troupe is partnering with Rocky Mountain PBS to air a previously recorded version of the ballet throughout the holiday season.
