Middlesex College displays new logo and look, looks forward to exciting future Middlesex College displays new logo and look, looks forward to exciting future   Middlesex College in Edison, formerly known as Middlesex County College, toasted its new name, new logo, and rebranding initiative by raising a new flag. Although the name change went into effect on Jan. 1, Middlesex College hosted the flag raising ceremony on May 13 to celebrate the initiative on a morning whose beautiful spring weather reflected the optimism in the college’s future in spite of a pandemic-challenged year.   Shanice Pearson, whose photo adorns one of the banners that traverse the campus, spoke at the flag raising and said she is thrilled with the name change to Middlesex College and is particularly happy that her diploma will sport the new term.

EAST LANSING, MI .- Artists Jenny Kendler and Andrew Bearnot join forces with musicians and composers Lyn Goeringer (Assistant Professor, MSU College of Music) and David Rothenberg (Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Music, New Jersey Institute of Technology) for the virtual event “Songs From the Deep” on Friday, May 14 from 7–8:30pm. The event, which will take place on zoom, explores communication between humans and other species through music, and features two world premiere performances of new compositions from Goeringer and Rothenberg.

TCNJ also has started talks with the unions representing faculty and staff, with the intent of requiring vaccines of full-time, part-time and temporary workers on-campus, TCNJ President Kathryn Foster said in an online message. Students with valid medical reasons precluding vaccination, as well as those with established and sincerely held religious beliefs that preclude receipt of a vaccination, may request an exemption from the vaccine requirement, Foster also said, similar to the process announced by most other colleges adding the COVID-19 vaccine as a requirement.

Everyone in New Jersey age 16 and older became eligible for a vaccine on April 19 and many sites across the state are now accepting walk-ins for those who wish to get one, prompting several university officials to mandate vaccinations for students who live on campus or attend in-person classes.
