1. Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI)
The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) is the world s leading organization on financial inclusion policy and regulation. Currently, 100 member institutions make up the AFI network including central banks, finance ministries, and other financial policymaking or regulatory institutions more than 88 developing countries and emerging markets. AFI empowers policymakers to increase the access and usage of quality financial services for the underserved through sustainable and inclusive policies and the effective use of digital technologies.
Policies developed and implemented by the members of the Alliance contribute to a range of the
Sustainable Development Goals. By setting their own agenda, AFI members harness the power of peer learning to develop practical and tested policy reforms that enhance financial inclusion, with strategic support from both public and private sector partners.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS On Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, 2021, the Bahamas Red Cross Society (BRCS) and the Nature Conservancy (TNC) launched its official partnership towards increasing climate resilience in communities across the archipelago.
The launch featured the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to solidify the beginning of the Resilient Islands project in The Bahamas, a collaborative effort between the two organizations, along with other national and community-based stakeholders. Green Building Alliance joins United Nations in $24 million International Climate Initiative
Green Building Alliance (GBA) was the first organization in the country to focus on green building, starting 28 years ago. Today, they are considered the vanguard of a movement that has taken off worldwide.
Now, GBA has announced they are collaborating with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on a $24 million project to improve the energy efficiency and carbon footprint of the global building supply chain. The mission is to help create healthier, more sustainable buildings.
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) award further positions GBA not just as an anchor of Pittsburgh’s green economy, but as a recognized force for change in the world.

The German federal government has adopted the so-called Carbon Leakage Ordinance on 31 March 2021. The ordinance aims at providing financial relief for companies impacted by the German national carbon emissions trading system, and seeks to prevent the flight of these companies to third country jurisdictions.
The national carbon emissions trading system, introduced by the German Combustibles Emissions Trading Act (Brennstoffemissionshandelsgesetz or BEHG), entered into force in 2021 and complements the European emissions trading system (EU ETS), which has been in place since 2005. While the EU ETS applies in particular to large industrial facilities and power plants, the BEHG created a similar cap-and-trade system most notably for the heating and transport sectors. All “suppliers” of combustibles like petrol fuel, diesel oil, heating oil, liquified and natural gas are subject to the trading system introduced by the BEH
