In separate remarks, former senate presidents, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, Senator David Mark, and Senator Bukola Saraki, made the call at the PDP North Central Zonal Congress held at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Saturday Ayu, who expressed happiness over the return of Prof. Jerry Gana, gave an assurance that the current crop of leaders of the party would team up to ensure victory for the party at all levels in 2023.

A former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana and his supporters yesterday returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Addressing party members at a reception to mark his formal return to the PDP in Bida, Niger State, Gana said the country is nose-diving and needed urgent rescue. Gana, then member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP had in March, 2018, dumped the PDP and pitched tent with the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Speaking during his defection yesterday, the former minister said there was no government in his home state of Niger and Nigeria. He said, “Today, is not a day for lecture, it is not a day for campaigns, we just want to rejoice that we are back together solidly; and we are going to work together solidly, we are going to work together effectively, that we are going to campaign powerfully.”

Ex minister, Gana, five others rejoin PDP - Punch Newspapers

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 11 April 2021 A former Minister of Information, Prof Jerry Gana, on Saturday rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party alongside five other prominent former members who earlier left the party from the North Central zone. Gana had left the PDP for the Social Democratic Party sometime in 2018 to contest the 2019 presidential election. Others who rejoined the PDP at its zonal congress held in Makurdi, Benue State capital, are a former Minister of Police Affairs Humphrey Abah, Amb Esther Audu, Adakole Ijogi, and Amb Bagudu Hillson. Gana appreciated the leaders of the PDP for readmitting them back into the party.

Breaking News | PDP elects 23 officials in North-Central Zone

Views: Visits 4 The Peoples Democratic (PDP) has elected 23 officials to run the affairs of the party in the North-Central zone for the next four years. Announcing the outcome of the election on Saturday in Makurdi, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Dr Cletus Tyokaa, said that all the outgone zonal officials were returned unopposed. He said that a total of 906 delegates were expected at the congress but only 820 were accredited and voted. He said that those who returned unopposed were: Zonal Chairman, Mr Theophilus Shan, Zonal Secretary, Mr Maurice Tsav, Zonal Treasurer, Emmanuel Ibrahim, Publicity Secretary, Mr Mohamed Suleiman and 21 others. Benue Gov. Samuel Ortom tasked the new officials on fairness, justice and equity in the discharge of their mandate.
