CAROGA LAKE Caroga Arts Collective has announced the concert schedule for its 2021 Caroga Lake Music Festival, which will feature 26 outdoor performances between July 3 and August 22. Its 2021 concert season will not only commemmorate the music festival’s 10th anniversary, but the 100th birthday of the former Sherman’s Amusement Park, the festival’s new permanent home, with a special series as well.

LOS ANGELES - After a year in COVID silence, the sound of music will again fill the historic Hollywood Bowl Saturday as the Los Angeles Philharmonic returns to the famed stage to perform the first in a series of free concerts for health care workers, first responders and other essential workers.
Gustavo Dudamel, the philharmonic s music and artistic director, will lead the orchestra in a performance featuring Jessie Montgomery s Starburst, Barber s Adagio for Strings and Beethoven s Symphony No. 3, Eroica. The performance will be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube and simulcast on KUSC, which will re-broadcast the performance on Monday.

The rolling, green hills at Tanglewood in Lenox will once again be filled with the sound of live music after the pandemic canceled last summer s festival. Perhaps it s not surprising that the BSO s first in-person concert for audiences in both the Berkshires and Boston will include Beethoven s heroic Symphony No. 5.
“The Fifth is symbolic in many ways,” BSO artistic administrator Tony Fogg explained. “It was the first symphony that was performed on the Tanglewood grounds back in 1937, so it sort of represents a reawakening, a rebirth for us.”
Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra to Perform Capricious Classics
The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra will perform this Saturday, February 27th at the Cheyenne Civic Center as they will continue their 2020-2021 season with Capricious Classics .
The concert will start off with composer Jessie Montgomery s Starburst for string orchestra. The energetic piece was composed for the Sphinx Organization, which has helped the careers of Black and Latinx classical musicians. The piece also served as an inspiration for CSO s Art in Music program. Hundreds of art students from grades 7 through 12 from LCSD #1 put their version of art with what they heard from the music in this piece. Those art images will be projected on-stage prior to the concert. You can also view them at the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra s website.
