It took an inning for the gears to turn on opening day, but once they started, they didn’t stop for the Pella baseball team until they earned a 14-3 five-inning win over PCM Monday night, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
The Mustangs jumped on the Dutch early with a two-run first inning, and Easton Webb and the PCM defense retired the first five Pella batters in nine-pitches in the bottom of the frame.
However, the Dutch offense responded with five in the bottom of the 2nd and seven in the bottom of the 3rd, with two home runs book-ending the scoring; the first coming from Cole Hillman to give Pella a lead they wouldn’t lose, and Nick DeJong putting an exclamation point on opening day with a two-run shot off of the scoreboard:
This police week we're there as relatives celebrate what would have been Dep. Sandeep Dhaliwal's 44th birthday and Councilman Mike Knox remembers his son, fallen HPD Officer Jason Knox, a year after his death.
Voters in five western Rock County municipalities said âyesâ on Tuesday to the idea of letting ATVs share local roads with cars and trucks.
But that doesnât mean people can ride their ATVS or UTVs on the roads immediately, said Jason Knox of the Western Rock County ATV Club.
The referendums are advisory. To make ATVs street legal, the local town or village board would have to approve the change, and signs marking the routes would have to be posted.
Now, the boards governing the village of Orfordville and the towns of Avon, Center, Plymouth and Union must consider the Tuesdayâs votes. The âyesâ votes ranged from about 52% in Orfordville to 68% in the town of Plymouth.
