Robert Abela insisted that investigations linked to the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia are not closed and a task force dedicated to the case will continue operating.
The Prime Minister said on Thursday the task force set up in the wake of the assassination to probe all information retrieved during the murder case will continue functioning.
However, the Caruana Galizia special task force was not only probing the murder but also the different aspects that emerged throughout the course of the investigation.
At a briefing in Castille, Abela warned that no one enjoyed impunity and reiterated his commitment for justice to be delivered “without fear or favour”.

Daphne Caruana Galizia
A change of plea to guilty in a Maltese court this week by a man accused of being one of three hitmen who murdered investigative reporter Daphne Caruana Galizia in 2017 has brought hopes that her family may be one step closer to getting both answers about her assassination and justice.
On 16 October 2017, Caruana Galizia was assassinated by the triggering of an explosive device planted under her car seat outside her home in Bidnija, Malta. Her body was found by her son Matthew who said at the time, “I looked down and there were my mother’s body parts all around me”.

ADPD says Robert Abela should stop trying to take credit for developments in the Caruana Galizia murder investigation
The Prime Minister should stop taking all the credit in the Daphne Caruana Galizia case, ADPD chairperson Carmel Cacopardo said.
The arrests of Robert and Adrian Aguis, and Jamie Vella, have shed light on the murders of both Daphne Caruana Galizia and Carmel Chircop, he said, adding the Prime Minister has no right to take credit for the work of the police force.
