But, amid the horrors of this lethal pandemic, which has affected every one of us, there have been moments to illuminate the gloom. There have been times when the spirit of people in Norfolk has triumphed in the face of this killer virus, where kindness and generosity have cast away the shadows. This became clear in the early days of the pandemic, when people realised just what an impact Covid-19 was going to have on one of the UK s most cherished and valued institutions - the NHS.

The James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston recorded the deaths between December 13 and December 28. All of the patients suffered from underlying health conditions. Five of the patients were in their 70s, four were in their 80s and two were in their 90s. A spokesperson said that the families had been informed, and that thoughts and condolences were with them at this difficult time .

The East of England Ambulance Service, police and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were called out at 5pm on Monday, July 6 after a cyclist and an Audi A4 were involved in the collision. A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries and he was taken to James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge with a punctured lung.
