A self-employed delivery driver who was caught fraudulently using a company s fuel card barricaded their warehouse twice when they suspended his payment.
The future of healthcare in Swords sparked debate in the council chamber as an independent councillor called for new healthcare facilities to be located close to the Pavilions or Barryspark area of the town.
At last week s Area Committee Meeting, Cllr Cathal Boland (NP) proposed a motion seeking improved Heath Facilities for Swords.
Cllr Boland said that medical facilities, currently on offer in Swords, the County Town of Fingal were inadequate to meet the needs of Swords and the surrounding area Boland called for the Committee members to recommend, promote, and support the establishment of appropriately sized health care facilities located in close proximity to the Pavilion/Barryspark area of the town.
With a cold weather snap, and hundreds of thousands of workers now confined at home, Labour councillor, James Humphreys has called on the Government to extend eligibility for the fuel allowance for the duration of this lockdown to workers on the pandemic unemployment payment where this is the only income in the household.
The force has confirmed that an off-duty officer died yesterday. A local councillor has welcomed the introduction of an affordable/social housing scheme for Rush as an opportunity for those struggling to get on the property ladder to own their own home.
The proposed development, at Old Road, Hayestown, Rush is to consist of 62 housing units, comprised of 17 2-bedroom units and 45 3 bedroom units.
The development consists of 80% affordable housing and 20% social housing.
The development is subject to a service site application being granted, with the council reporting an indication the scheme will be positively received.
Fingal County Council has initiated procedures pursuant to Part XI of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act 2000 - 2015 and Part VIII of the Local Government Planning and Development Regulations 2001 - 2015 in relation to the proposed development.
