Dunlap fire chief pleads to DUI; sentenced to non-reporting probation
PEORIA The chief of the Dunlap Fire Protection District pleaded guilty last week to drunken-driving charges.
James Hanson entered a plea in Peoria County Circuit Court to a single count of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one year of court supervision, which is a form of non-reporting probation.
The supervision began on Feb. 2, which was when Hanson pleaded guilty, and will last one year. He was also ordered to pay $2,881.50 in fines, costs and fees, according to the Peoria County Circuit Clerk s website.
When reached, Hanson, 52, declined to comment. According to the county s records, his traffic record locally only has one other violation, for speeding, and no criminal convictions other than this one.
