Amid rising COVID-19 cases in Mumbai and the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has asked the state chief secretary to draw up a plan to implement two working shifts at the Mantralaya and explore which government departments can run at full capacity with employees working from home. Mumbai city on Tuesday reported 643 new cases, taking the cumulative COVID-19 tally to 3,20,532. Eight more deaths pushed the city s toll to 11,454. The active cases stand at 7,536. BMC Commissioner IS Chahal has said that they are taking steps to educate people about the importance of wearing face masks and following physical distancing norms. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar also visited Dadar market to create awareness.

Mumbai: A fire incident was reported at Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road in Maharashtra on Thursday. Fire extinguishers have reached the spot and are making attempts to douse the fire. The administration has sealed both the roads on the route.
A major fire broke out in an LPG cylinder godown in Mumbai s Versova area on February 10. Four people were injured in the unfortunate incident. The police arrested godown owner Hoti Wadilal.
A police official said that the godown owner was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 337 and 338 (grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and under the Essential Commodity Act.
