GUEST BLOG: Ian Powell – Dirty politics in action: smear campaign in New Zealand s health system

Health systems are delivered by highly committed and skilled health professionals overwhelmingly driven by compassion. Unfortunately many have to work in environments where leadership cultures are antithetical to that compassion. Broadly speaking the prevailing leadership culture in New Zealand’s health system is managerialism which involves decision-making through a very narrow lens that is management rather than clinically and patient-centred driven. Within district health boards (DHBs) this can be alleviated by the closer proximity between senior managers and health professionals and largely overcome where there is sufficient oxygen to enable genuine engagement between them. The more distributed the engagement at all levels the more clinically and fiscally effective it is.

Fans Preparing To Make Return To Charlotte Motor Speedway

WCCB Charlotte s CW May 26, 2021 CONCORD, N.C. The fans are slowly starting to trickle in ahead of the big race. After no fans were allowed a year ago for the Coca-Cola 600, Charlotte Motor Speedway will operate under 100% capacity this weekend. “It’s really hard to put into words how excited we are to welcome back fans this weekend,” said Charlotte Motor Speedway Senior Public Relations Director Jonathan Coleman. RV’s won’t be allowed into the infield of the track until Thursday but they’ve already started to set up shop on the grounds outside of the speedway. Jim and Sallie Hooker have attended every Coke 600 since 2008, except for last year due to COVID-19. The couple live in Ohio and travel to Charlotte to enjoy the race week. After a year off they couldn’t be more excited.

Thomas is jailed in Covington County extradition to Atlanta. Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta was offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads the capture of Thomas.

Researchers Develop New Graphene-based Sensor Technology for Wearable Medical Devices

Researchers Develop New Graphene-based Sensor Technology for Wearable Medical Devices Researchers at AMBER, the SFI Centre for Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research, and from Trinity’s School of Physics, have developed next-generation, graphene-based sensing technology using their innovative G-Putty material. The team’s printed sensors are 50 times more sensitive than the industry standard and outperform other comparable nano-enabled sensors in an important metric seen as a game-changer in the industry: flexibility. Maximising sensitivity and flexibility without reducing performance makes the teams’ technology an ideal candidate for the emerging areas of wearable electronics and medical diagnostic devices. The team – led by Professor Jonathan Coleman from Trinity’s School of Physics, one of the world’s leading nanoscientists – demonstrated that they can produce a low-cost, printed, graphene
