Havre Police Department Clayton Blade White of Havre, 25, was issued a summons on a theft charge after a caller at a First Street West business reported Friday at 1:54 p.m. that a customer had scammed them out of money. John Curtis Striker of Box Elder, 47, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, failing to carry proof of insurance and open container in the city during a vehicle stop on First Street Saturday at 2:12 a.m. Saturday at 11:25 a.m., a caller on 10th Avenue reported finder their car with three slashed tires.

OPINION: Let’s ask the big political question of 2021. Has Jacinda Ardern’s Government got the will to be bold, to take risks even at the expense of some of its popularity, to tackle and resolve the biggest issues facing our country? Or will it continue to be directionless, timid, and afraid to court criticism and risk its poll ratings, and thereby let the disease of poverty and despair go unaddressed? Covid-19 aside, by biggest issues I mean the housing crisis, child poverty and climate change. Others would add mental health and economic recovery to that list.

30-foot-plus RVs and trailers have gotten out of control around Mission Bay! (“San Diego cracks down on anyone living in his car,” Cover Stories, December 16) The city should have made a stipulation when they gave the campground area in De Anza Cove to Campland that they should have some affordable spots not just the ones that go for $100 a night spots.
