A New Jersey landlord accused of demanding sexual favors from tenants in exchange for housing is continuing to work toward a settlement with federal authorities, who filed a lawsuit against him last summer for allegedly harassing low-income tenants for more than a decade, according to court documents.
In August, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Joseph Centanni, of Mountainside, alleging he violated the Fair Housing Act for sexually harassing tenants and applicants on multiple occasions since at least 2005 as a landlord in Elizabeth.
