New York State Team ALBANY - Gov. Andrew Cuomo raised $2.5 million over the first half of the year as he considers a run for a fourth term in 2022 amid scandals that have threatened his political future. The campaign haul is less than what Cuomo had raised in at this point four years ago when he was gearing up to run for a third term and had brought in $5 million and had $25.6 million in the bank. The Democratic governor s campaign reported late Thursday that it had nearly $18.5 million in its war chest as Cuomo weighs whether to run for a fourth term  which has not been successfully achieved in New York since Nelson Rockefeller did so in 1970.
