A lawmaker representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dachung Bagos says the National Assembly will begin the process to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if security worsens in May.
The lawmaker said the House has inaugurated a 40-member committee to look holistically at security challenges in the country.

He, however, said the impeachment of the President will be the last resort of the National Assembly, which is to come if the Executive fails to implement the resolutions of the security summit that will come up from the House committee next month.
A federal lawmaker on Thursday said the National Assembly will move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if the Executive does not act on its security resolutions.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday inaugurated a 40-man committee to find a solution to the country’s security challenges, including but not limited to an insurgency in the North-East, banditry in the North-West, secessionist agitations in the South-East and Fulani-Herdsmen crises across the Middle-Belt and several South-West states.
The Committee is set to hold a four-day security summit in May.

Sunrise Daily, the lawmaker representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Dachung Bagos said impeachment processes will be initiated if the summit’s resolutions are not acted upon by the Executive.

Mr Dachung Bagos, the member representing Jos South South/Jos East Federal Constituency, has said that the military needs modern and sophisticated equipment to combat kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery and other forms of insecurity in the country.
Bagos said this while interacting with some journalists on Friday in Jos, insisting that the military needs to be adequately equipped to address the myriad of insecurity facing the nation.
He decried the spate of kidnapping, banditry and armed robbery in the country and called on government and security agencies to intensify efforts in addressing the menace.
The lawmaker commended the military for its efforts so far in addressing the challenge of insecurity, but said more needed to be done.
