Gunmen have kidnapped a niece of the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen.
The incident happened at Rantiya Locost, Dapit Karen, in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A relative of the victim, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, said the gunmen came around 5 am when residents were still sleeping.
He said the kidnappers did not kidnap the victim’s mother who was staying with her.

According to Bello, the explanation given to them concerning the planned demolition of the market didn’t hold water, calling on the state government and security agencies to investigate the matter.
He said: “We were contacted by the LG that investors have come to rebuild the market and put necessary amenities, and for that reason, the market would be demolished. We asked them if we could see the investors but have never seen them up to now.
“Few days ago, we saw some people who came into the market and began to take some measurements but pleaded with them to leave because their presence was generating tension. To us, there is a hidden agenda in the whole thing,” he added.

The Plateau State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 39 suspects for crimes ranging from armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, kidnapping, culpable homicide, among others.
Commissioner of Police in the State, Edward Egbuka, said the arrest of the suspects is the results of the Commands’ vigorous fight against crime.
Reeling out some of the successes the Command recorded in the State from the last quarter of 2020 till date, the Commissioner said, “On 10th of October, 2020 at about 01:30 hours, acting on a tip-off, police detectives attached to ‘A’ Division Jos, burst a criminal hideout and arrested six suspected armed robbers.
