Hyderabad: The water row between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the latters controversial project across the Krishna River has turned bitter with the leaders from the two Telugu states indulging in a no-holds barred attack.
The inter-state dispute over sharing of Krishna waters came to the fore again this week following reports that Andhra Pradesh is going ahead with the construction of the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project (RLIP) despite the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to stop the work.

In a bid to boost the water supply work to provide tap water connection to rural households in Maharashtra, Centre today increased the grant-in-aid to Rs 7064.41 crore.
This is a four fold increase from the previous yearâs allocation of Rs. 1,828.92 Crores. This boost in allocation takes the stateâs total available funds for supply of water to rural households under Jal Jeevan Mission(JJM) to Rs 14,547.24 crore as a large portion of the previous yearâs allotment too has stayed unutilised.
