Because of that added risk, they were some of the first eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.  Mary Lunsford is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the River Valley who’s seen first-hand the impact of COVID-19 on her patients. The 43-year-old lives with her husband and children in Bonanza, Arkansas. As an APRN at Baptist Health Urgent Care in Fort Smith, Lunsford has spent the past year facing COVID-19 head-on.

The new clinic is located at 1910 S. Zero St. across from Sutherlands. “We look forward to providing the community with affordable, quality walk-in urgent care, delivered by an exceptional and compassionate team,” said Mike Dupuis, Urgent Team Division Vice President for Baptist Health Urgent Care. The center is open seven days a week and offers evening hours during the workweek.  Walk-ins are welcome and same-day or next-day visits can be planned online with Hold My Spot or by reserving a telemedicine visit.

This spring, Baptist Health Urgent Care will open its second walk-in urgent care center in Fort Smith.  The new urgent care center will be located at 1910 S. Zero St., across from Sutherlands, and is expected to open in mid-April.  Baptist Health Urgent Care operates nine centers throughout Arkansas (Fort Smith, Little Rock (two locations), North Little Rock, Jacksonville, Cabot, Brynat, Beebe and Benton). 

Fort Smith construction projects include restaurant and urgent care

Times Record Two new restaurants and an urgent care facility are among many new construction projects going on in Fort Smith. C.R. Crawford Construction is building the Fort Smith Walk-On s Sports Bistreaux. There are currently two Walk-On s Sports Bistreaux in Arkansas. One is at 4050 S. JB Hunt Drive in Rogers and the other is at 955 South Amity Road in Conway. There are about 20 Walk-On s in Louisiana and the chain has many other restaurants across the South, including one on the Texas side of Texarkana. Blue Ember Smokehouse Dirt work for what will become Blue Ember Smokehouse started recently near 8000 Phoenix Ave., across from Mercy Orthopedic Hospital and near the new Chambers Bank along Little Massard Creek.
