All Nominated and Winning Nurses During National Nurses Week
What a week it was! A week of celebrating and honoring all of the dedicated, compassionate, committed, and caring nurses in the area. Here s a look back at ALL of the nominated nurses and those that won trips in our first-ever, From the Front Lines to the Shorelines contest.

As you know, last week on WBKR we partnered with Henderson Chevrolet Buick GMC and the Holiday Inn Resort Panama City Beach to honor all of the amazing nurses in the area, based on your nominations. With our new contest, From the Front Lines to the Shore Lines five lucky nurses won trips to the Holiday Inn Resort in Panama Beach, Florida.
GOVERNOR BESHEAR’S DAILY COVID-19 STATEMENT
FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 31, 2021) – On Wednesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced all Kentuckians 16 and older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine April 5. Only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16 and 17-year-olds.
“This is a good day. This news means that we will beat the president’s goal by a month to have COVID-19 vaccinations opened up to everyone,” said Gov. Beshear. “We are seeing in a number of states an increase in cases and hospitalizations, and it’s happening among younger people. We want to get ahead of the more aggressive COVID-19 variants and make sure that we fill every available appointment. Make a plan to get your shot of hope.”

Baptist Health Madisonville has been awarded a $10,000 WHAS Crusade for Children grant that will help children in the Pediatric Therapy Care program.
According to a news release, the funds were utilized to purchase a gait training device called the LiteGait it is a gait training device that simultaneously controls weight bearing, posture, and balance over a treadmill or over ground. It suspends the patient and allows the clinician to manually assist lower extremities and pelvis to achieve proper gait patterns.
Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services Director Marianne Ramsey says, “This new tool will allow for us to further assist the children that require our services and provide them with an even higher level of care. We will be able to provide standing support to the child while they work on upright activities such as writing on a dry erase board, and it provides safe guarding for loss of balance whe

Following is a list of COVID-19 vaccination sites designated by the state of Kentucky and the federal government. Kentucky is currently in phase 1C of its vaccination distribution plan.
Residents who qualify to get the COVID-19 vaccine are all essential workers, people over who are age 60 or older, and anyone over the age of 16 with Center for Disease Control highest risk C19 condition.
Kentucky defines essential workers as: anyone working in food & agriculture, manufacturing, U.S. Postal service workers, public transit workers, grocery store workers, transportation and logistics, food service shelter & housing (construction), finance, IT & communication, energy, media, legal, public safety (engineers), water & wastewater and clergy.
