She spoke while fielding questions from journalists, shortly after she was honoured for her contribution in the education sector by the Baptist Boys’ High School, Abeokuta Old Boys Association.
The award was presented to her during the ‘Presidential Endowment Dinner and launching of the N1bn Development Fund’ which was attended by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and other prominent members of the old boys association.
Sokefun, who was a commissioner in Ogun State, called for more engagement of women in politics and leadership positions.
She expressed optimism that a female will rule Nigeria, the most populous black nation in the world soon.

The Chairman, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Mrs Ronke Sokefun, has expressed confidence that the country will soon produce a female president.
She said this in an interview with newsmen at the sidelines of an award ceremony held over the weekend in her honour by the Baptist Boys’ High School, Abeokuta, Old Boys Association for her contribution to the education sector.
Sokefun, who cited the election of Kamala Harris as the first female vice president of the United States of America (USA), submitted that female presidency is inevitable in Nigeria.
The NDIC boss, who was a two-time commissioner in Ogun State, urged the womenfolk to actively participate in politics and engage themselves in leadership positions.

Olalekan Adeeko, a teacher at Baptist Boys’ High School, Ogun has won the African Union Continental Teacher Prize 2020 for his work and dedication to the teaching profession.
He is the first Nigerian to win the prestigious award at the virtual event held in Addis Ababa on the 21st of December, 2020, it was learnt.
Olalekan said on Thursday that he dedicated it to all inspirational teachers in Nigeria and on the African Continent.
For the 2020 edition of the African Union Continental Teacher Awards, prizes of $10 000 each were awarded to top African teachers at the secondary school level.
The AU Teacher Prize has been established as a means for demonstrating respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating the committed teachers in Africa.
