MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - U.S. Marshals have arrested a Montgomery murder suspect, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers said.
Authorities say Michael Lewis was taken into custody Friday morning. He was wanted for the Dec. 19 murder of William Elmore III.
Marshals caught Lewis fleeing a home on Wright Street.
According to Montgomery police, on Dec. 19 around 1:10 p.m, officers were called Baptist Medical Center South on a report that a patient was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest. On Tuesday, Dec. 29, the patient, identified as Elmore, died from his injuries.
