Petitions for open council and mayoral spots closed in North Sioux City Friday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. North Sioux City will have two races this year.
Running for Mayor are Linda Cutsinger and Patty Teal. Current Mayor Rodd Slater announced during the Jan. 19 council meeting that he would not be running for mayor in the upcoming election due to family and personal reasons. He thanked all the staff and employees at the city for working with him, the residents of Ward 4 who elected him to the city council seat and the council for appointing him as mayor.
