Richard Owen Ditmars, 47, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with 10 counts of Class C felony possession of child pornography and one count of Class B felony promotion of a sexual performance by a minor child, according to Minot police.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Ditmars had illegal images and videos on his phone and had allegedly emailed some of the images to a Yahoo account in January.
The arrest came after an investigation by the Minot Police Department and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Both agencies are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing more than 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies.
