District 518 booster announce scholarship winners
WORTHINGTON The Worthington ISD 518 Sports Boosters Club is proud to support young student athletes in pursuing the combination of collegiate athletic and academic pursuits. All student athletes who have secured future athletic participation on the collegiate level are eligible to apply regardless of the sport(s) they participate in.
The club is extending two $500 scholarships to senior student athletes who exemplify effort, dedication, commitment and spirit to their team, school and community. This year’s winners are Maranda Thier, daughter of Mark and Maria, and Sophie Wietzema, daughter of Troy and Angela.
Dakota Wesleyan University s board of trustees appointed executive vice president Theresa Kriese to serve as interim president while DWU continues to search for its next leader.
Lindell, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, has repeatedly pushed disproven voter-fraud conspiracy theories about the presidential election, prompting the voting-machine company Dominion to sue him for $1.3 billion.
Some attendees at Monday s event brought along Trump merchandise, including hats and flags. Salon.com s Zachary Petrizzo reported that a group of far-right Proud Boy members attended, citing a source at the event.
The event featured talks from Ben Carson, Trump s secretary of housing and urban development, who joined on video call, and the conservative podcaster Eric Metaxas. The comedian Joe Piscopo of Saturday Night Live fame performed a music set, which included the national anthem.
