Number of COVID-19 pop-up vaccination clinics growing in western Washington Jurisdictions across the region are attempting to get the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible people. Author: Amy Moreno Updated: 12:34 PM PST January 24, 2021 PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. Saturday, the City of Seattle hosted a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Rainier Beach to help healthcare workers. On Sunday, Amazon is jumping in to help in Seattle. They join Pierce County, which just announced two for next week. Pierce County officials said they re planning clinics even before they have the doses. If they find out the doses will come in, they will announce them publicly.

People who are in either Phase 1A and 1B Tier 1 are offered spots by appointment only for two drive-thru clinics, a partnership of MultiCare Health System, Pierce County Department of Emergency Management, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. The first clinic will be at Clover Park Technical College, 4500 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 26. Enter at both Steilacoom Boulevard entrances and get directed to vaccination site.

Jan. 22 The Washington state Department of Health reported 2,223 new cases of COVID-19 and 125 deaths Thursday. The high number of new deaths is due to a Jan. 14-20 data processing backlog, DOH said. Pierce County reported 304 cases Thursday and nine new deaths. Pierce County has a total of 373 deaths likely caused by COVID-19 as of Thursday, according to the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. Statewide totals from the illness caused by the coronavirus are 296,087 cases and 4,065 deaths. Those numbers are up from 293,864 cases Wednesday and 3,940 deaths Tuesday. The case total includes 12,899 cases listed as probable. DOH revises previous case and death counts daily.
