A STOURBRIDGE man has been charged with drink driving after police were called to reports of a car colliding with a wall and multiple parked vehicles in a snowy Brierley Hill street. Police confirmed they were alerted to the incident in Adelaide Street just after 1pm on Sunday (January 24). Balachandran Thevapalan, of Park Road, Stourbridge, has since been charged with driving while over the legal limit for alcohol and is due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court next month. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: The 50-year-old has been released on police bail to appear before Dudley Magistrates Court on February 16.
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and other motoring offences after a high speed police chase in Dudley yesterday. Officers from Brierley Hill Police Station gave chase after a suspicious vehicle made off at speed while they were on patrol in Dudley on Saturday December 19. During the pursuit the car collided with a kerb and fence, puncturing one of the tyres, Dudley PC Jamie Follows said. The chase, however, continued until the vehicle gave up and officers arrested the driver in Selborne Road at around 2.45pm. The car was also seized. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said a man has since been charged with dangerous driving, having no insurance, driving other than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop and obstructing a police officer.
